Bairei Kono Gallery of the Reader Collection of Japanese Flower-and-Bird Art

Bairei was both a respected painter and teacher. One of his drawing books for art students was first published in 1903 and later re-published (1913). Entitled Bairei Gakan (i.e., Bairei’s Drawing Methods), it included the twenty-four pictures of flowers, fruits and (or) birds shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it.
